It’s strategic management
Discuss planning and scheduling with someone at your work, former work, or a professional
friend. Who does the scheduling on the projects? Ask questions such as the type of software
the company uses for scheduling, how long they have been using it, what type of schedule, if
they think it is beneficial, and how do they incorporate scheduling risks. Get a feel for the
difficulties in planning and scheduling, how it effects the project, what personal scheduling do
they do, how many schedules do they deal with, do most people have a smartphone with a
schedule, etc. What is your perception of the use of schedules? Are schedules done for many
projects (executive level with no individual activities)? Do you ever see and discuss a schedule?
Is the schedule posted and updated?
