Pointers 4. Your leadership roles and community involvement. Serving overseas often provide little community involvement. However I have served in few
platforms: 1. Navy Marine Relief Society Advocate 2015-2016: raising over $75,000 worth of
donations locally in order to continue its over 100 years of tradition in helping active duty and
retired Sailors and Marines and their eligible family members and survivors in financial,
educational, and other needed based assistance. 2015-2016 Combined Federal Campaign advocate: fundraising over $100,000 locally for variety of charitable organizations. And lastly
current treasurer of the Rota Spain’s Filipino American Levante Club donating over 700 dollars
cash to DGF school for scholarship purposes and to local Navy Diversity Team.
Pointers 5. Elaborate on all of the items you checked under the “check any that apply” section.
1. Economically disadvantaged family background Family of seven, Father’s job is a seafood processor for UNISEA Inc. based in Dutch Harbor Alaska
and mother is a Cashier in Municipal Trial Court in the Philippines. Raising Seven children is
tough, converting all net incomes combined from parents would be around $1,500 monthly and
that will be divided for food, clothing, utility expenses, etc. Although the cost of living in PI is low,
it is still hard. In fact I support my parents in monthly transfers to ease up the expenses. Enlisted Military Service Member
Serving in the military is beyond blessing. Not only I can serve the country, but I can pursue
education with their help of tuition assistance. Per year the Government is giving about 15
credits or up to $5,000 dollars. I’m very thankful, but I wanted to finish my studies as soon as
possible so I pursue my ultimate goals in life.
