analytical

I have written the attached analytical paper. I would like for someone to proofread it and see if you think I have met all the requirements. I also feel that my thesis statement could be better...I would like suggestions on that as well.

Paper Requirements:

1)     The paper should be analytical. By "analytical" I mean that you should "explain" why certain things happen, instead of merely describing case law. You should focus on "why" type of questions in your paper. Once you choose a topic, ensure that you frame it in a question form, and then offer a thesis statement (your thought) as to why the phenomena under investigation occurred. Then you will need to explain what you plan to use as a source of evidence. Next, you need to present what others have written on the subject.

Using primary (opinions) and secondary (law-related articles, biographic) sources, each student will analyze the impact that politics has on efforts of administrators to comply with administrative law requirements. Typically, laws has guided and restricted the actions of administrative agencies to make regulatory practices in line with due process standards. Examples of regulatory acts that mandate due process standards include the Americans with Disability Act, the Endangered Species Act, and Clean Air Act.

You are welcome to propose a topic of your own choosing. You simply need to clear it with me first.

Paper Structure:

2)     General Information:

1.      Papers must be 7-12 typed, double-spaced pages in length, Time New Roman, 12 word sizes, and will be evaluated based on form, content, and creativity. If you write more than the maximum eight pages, you'll be penalized with 10 points per page. (50 points)

2.      Include a separate title page. Do not include your name on page 1 of the paper's text. (5 points)

3.      Use an appropriate reference citation technique (such as APA or MLA style). (1 point for each)

4.      Include a Bibliography for all sources at end of paper: minimum of 10 sources. You must diversify the sources in the bibliography among journal articles, books, newspaper articles and magazines. (3 points for each)

5.      Page number the paper without including the title page. (5 points)

3)     Components:

Introduction (Between 2 to 3 paragraphs) (10 points)

1.     Frame your topic as a pressing analysis that needs to be studied.

2.     Provide background information

3.     Thesis statement: One or two sentences that specifically express what you will "demonstrate" in your paper. I require that your thesis statement is presented in the first or second paragraph in italicize format. (10 points)

Body (10 paragraphs or more) (10 points)

1.     State your main points and supply necessary supporting details.

2.     Specific factual data and comments from respected sources that strengthen your argument.

Conclusion (Between 2 or 3 paragraphs) (10 points)

1.     Restate your thesis and summarize the argument in its behalf.

2.     Again, emphasize the overriding importance of your topic.
