Vaiman & Vance: Read Chapter 5 & 6 Schweyer: Read Chapter 5 & 6
Discussion Question 1: Screening, Sorting, Ranking Applicants & Candidate Searching (Schweyer)
Chapter 3 & 4 was about online recruiting……chapters 5 & 6 are about screening, sorting and ranking applicants as well as about searching and candidate sourcing. So, theoretically, after they “come”…….you then have the pleasure of “picking & choosing” the cream of the crop. The first step is making sure you provide enough information for the applicant to self-assess, then you construct pre-screening questions, and finally you use automated screening (filter, sort and rank) or candidate searching (search for candidates in a resume/profile database). In order to “walk” us through the above mentioned process, please summarize both chapters making sure to categorize your summary per the subtitles (self-selection through online job advertising, pre-screening questionnaires, profiling candidates’ skills, competencies, education and experience, advanced automated screening and sorting, etc.)
This “walk” should be at least 1000 words – any format
