In order to write in the social sciences, one must understand that these concepts are not based on fixed laws, they are based on theories. One cannot determine beyond a doubt what someone will do in a situation. It is important to understand not only what you are writing about but how to take that information and put it on paper in order to present it to an audience. Theories in the Social Sciences are always changing depending on the different variables and new research that has been added to a theory. When writing in the social sciences, research questions hone in on the human condition, human behavior and the connection between the two. The methods that researchers use vary because of the questions that are asked in specific situations. There are three types of research in the social sciences. The first type is quantitative, which relies on collecting data and statistical analysis. The second type is qualitative, which relies on language and observation. The third type is called mixed method, which uses both quantitative and qualitative methods combined. Social Sciences is a diverse method of writing and has several different components.
