You are articulating your argumentative research project for the first time in this unit.

Post to this discussion board your tentative argumentative thesis, and one (1) quote from research you think supports your argument.

Discuss also one (1) or two (2) things that you have learned so far while engaging in the research and thesis articulation process. What have you learned about yourself as a researcher? What challenges do you think you face going forward?  

 

If you could go back in time to a few weeks ago at the start of the course, what is something you know today that you would tell yourself and/or your fellow students? In other words, what is at least one (1) key lesson you have learned?

For instance, what have you learned about conducting library research? What, if anything, has made your process easier? Share these methods with your classmates; you never know whom you might help!

Purpose: The purpose of the research proposal is to help you to understand your project, to gain direction and feedback on your project, and to establish a blueprint for your project.

 

Description: In this assignment, you will create a research proposal consisting of three sections:

 

Section 1: What is the topic? (100-150 words)

 

 

Section 2: What is the controversy? Include paragraphs that detail both sides of the controversy. (300-400 words) Section 3: Your tentative thesis statement (one to two sentences)
