1) I've been working in management for the past 26 years.

3) I've been in retail for the the past 23 years.
4) I manage over 120 employees and run a 20 million dollar store
5) I'm the Operations/Administrative manager and run a store of 4 Asst Mangers, 12 Department managers, Human Resource and Loss Prevention Manger. 100 employees which include 20 team Leaders and 8 sales specialist and 4 head cashiers.
6) one of the most common problems I experience on a daily basis is employees who disappear off the sales floor at any giving time when its not break of lunch time. Employees tend to feel that they deserve more time then is allowed by company and state and federal laws. I spent most of my time chasing down people. I also have to deal with employees who tend to get angry with customers and their fellow employees. Most of my employees deal with personal issues and can't leave those problems at the door when they are working. I have to be very calm and listen to theirs  problems and provide a shoulder or a ear when needed.
7) it causes the employees to lose focus and can be costly to the company and customers. It can also lead to injuries to fellow employees.
8) we are trained to deal with a many common problems that creep up such as divorce, illness, sick children or other family members, and death to love ones. We try our best to provide a safe environment for employees to open up. Our human resource manager has training to provide more help. The store manager is also trained to listen and provide help. This is why I run the daily operations of the store.
9) you are to provide me text concepts
10) the best advice I can give to new managers is 1) listen to older managers and learn from them. 2) take any extra classes they can. 3) try to listen to your employees and learn to understand and sympathize with their problems. 4) don't take any thing personal
