Emotional Intelligence Presentation Rubric Description

Week 3 – Emotional Intelligence Presentation

Prepare a 7 – 10 slide PowerPoint presentation as your training tool for teaching emotional intelligence to managers and supervisors of your organization. Include speaker notes to explain the slides, if needed. Do not use speaker notes as a verbatim narrative of an actual presentation. The intention of speaker notes here are to explain slides. The presentation needs to address the following:

a. Define primal leadership and resonant leadership styles

b. Evaluate the five discoveries of leadership and contrast to other approaches (other theories) of effective leadership

c. Develop a leadership improvement plan

Research peer-reviewed documents from Google Scholar. Write in third person. Follow APA format for citations and list references on the last slide. Slides should be self-explanatory, but you may add speaker notes to explain slides if needed. Do not use verbatim narratives as if this was an oral presentation. If needed, use speaker notes to explain the slide, not to state what you would say if you were presenting it orally. Keep the slide and any speaker notes in third person. Remember that the imperative mode of command is in second person and should not be used. Examples of imperative mode (not to be used): Do, Evaluate, Train, Consider, etc. because each of those verbs implies second person [you] do, [you] evaluate, etc. It is fine to say: Managers…evaluate, train; or The Plan…to evaluate, to train; but not The Plan… evaluate, train because it implies The Plan… [you] evaluate, [you] train.
