capacity of the disk

There is a current proposal to cut the size of an individual bit in a DVD-ROM in half so as to increase the capacity of the disk. This would cut both the width of the track and the track length required per bit in half. If the current capacity of a DVD-ROM is approximately 4.7 GB, what would be the capacity of the new ‘‘high-density’’ DVD-ROM?
