I am not sure how to calculate this problem: -Use the following information to calculate cash paid for wages and salaries: Salaries Expense $168,000 Salaries Payable, Jan 1 $6,400 Salaries Payable, Dec 31 $10,600 a) $157,400 b) $163,800 c) $168,000 d) $172,200 I originally put (a) because assuming on Jan 1 they still owe $6,400 to employees, that means they paid off $161,000 of the salaries expense. Then on Dec 31 they owed $10,600 ($4,200 more than Jan 1) So i subtracted the $4,200 from the $161,000 they had paid to get $157,400 (the amount the company had paid to the customers) ... but this answer was wrong. Any help?
