You will assume the role of security manager for the critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) site or asset that you previously selected for your KA. A member of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Critical Infrastructure Partnership Advisory Council (CIPAC) is visiting your facility. At lunch, the representative asks what kind of assistance DHS and the partnership might offer you. With your boss at the table, you suggest that you might give some thought to the question, and send a letter detailing your ideas on how your facility, DHS, and CIPAC might work together. Your boss asks to see your draft of the letter by the end of the day.

 

Craft a letter (500–750 words) that identifies your list of concerns. Your response to IP 1 from Week 3 is an excellent place to start. Ensure that the letter meets the following requirements:

  • Go on to detail support needs, analyzing how DHS, CIPAC, and members of private industry might help your Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR) Levee system site address those concerns. 
  • Include any clarifications or jurisdictional issues with which CIPAC might assist.
  • Include useful bibliographic references as necessary to clarify your ideas. 
  • Do not worry about how to address the letter. Just start with "Dear Sir" or "Dear Madam."

 

The focus of this letter will be around the CIKR levee system (I will provide you the IP1 and for week 3 as well) see attachment
