This assignment is for Theatre Appreciation. I want to use Romanticism to explore further in the following directions.

 

1) choose ONE of the following -isms to explore further, by visiting at least three websites or texts with reliable information on the subject. You may also want to view some video clips or sample some text pages from plays that are considered products of that style; (Google Books might come in handy if you can't find text pages elsewhere.)

2) report in your initial post two observations or discoveries you made about the style you chose. These should be in addition to the information provided in the textbook and should be detailed enough to help us better understand the style;

3) Briefly describe how YOU would convey a thematic idea, emotion, or moment of your choice based on the criteria of that specific theatrical style. For full credit, I need to see from your post that you understand the foundation and principles of the style. I encourage you to be creative: what does an expressionist presentation of work-related stress look like, for example? How could you use Dadaist theatre elements to show the absurdity of going to college? Give this exercise some thought and hopefully have fun with it!
