The purpose of this assignment is to develop learners’ ability to evaluate a given case and write a strategic management case report.

 

REQUIREMENT

 

Read the attached case on Corning GSC and write a strategic management case report based on it. You can watch the video on Writing a Case Analysis in Topic 10 of your module to help you with this.

 

Your case report should cover the following:

a.      Identification of problem 

b.     What was the main changes that took place in Corning GSC after the new management took over?

c.      Do you think the change in structure was beneficial to Corning? Evaluate its pros and cons. Justify using excerpts from the case.

d.     Evaluate the new decision making process. Do you think the top management were making decisions on the right things? Why or why not?

e.     If you were the CEO, what changes would you make? What would be the strategic direction of the company? Your recommendations should be fully justified with excerpts from the case.
