You will view the movie, "Now Voyager."  This movie is about a woman who was mentally ill.  With the help of her psychiatrist and a special person in her life she developed her sense of "Self."

Film Analysis:   "Now Voyager"

1.        Define the Self.   How is the "Self" developed?   Use the concept of the "self" to analyze the character, Charlotte Vale.   Include the following ideas:

• &νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ;&νβσπ; How she communicated with others and reflected on her own thoughts and actions.

• 7.        Describe how people with low self esteem and high self esteem respond to events.   How did Charlotte respond to events when her self-esteem was low?   How did Charlotte respond to events when her self-esteem was high?   Give examples. (5pts)

8.        Charlotte's life was a journey of self-discovery.   Using 6 concepts in Chapters 1 and 3, write a one page double-spaced essay describing your life's journey. (30pts)
