1. Assignments 1 & 2 require you to write an abstract of a journal article.
2. After reading the journal article, create an abstract using the
guidelines listed below and the article “How to Write an Abstract”.
Include:
· · Overall purpose of the article.
· · Brief, understandable description of the model/theory.
· · Pertinent specifics of the article. (Ex: subject size, timeframe, research parameters)
· · Overview of results and discussion.
· · Properly cite the article at the top of the paper using APA format.
· · Typed with 1 inch margins
· · Length: 1 page
· · Make sure you are describing this article in your own words, not the author’s or someone else’s.
· · Abstracts are often one paragraph and should not be any longer than 1 page. The goal is to succinctly describe the journal article so choose your words wisely.
· · A heading, title and/or title page is not necessary. Do remember to include your name at the top of the page.
