Hi Need help responding to this post

Guided Response: Read the arguments presented by your classmates, and analyze the reasoning that they have presented. In particular, if you believe that their argument is invalid, explain a way in which it would be possible for the premises to be true and the conclusion false. If you believe that their argument has a false premise, explain why a reasonable person might take it to be false. Finally, see if you can help them to improve their argument. How can they alter their premises so that all of them are true? What might they change in order to make their argument valid?

Prompt question- Should athletes be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs or techniques?

Premise 1- Steroids can have long lasting negative physical and mental impacts on the body.

Premise 2- Steroids give the user an unfair advantage against those who don’t use steroids.

Premise 3- Steroids have long been illegal and covert, which puts the user at a heightened risk of

taking poorly constructed and dangerous substances.

Conclusion- Due to the fact that steroids can have a significant impact on health, frequently resulting in death, from the use and side effects of bad supplements, and the unfair advantage that steroids give the user over non users, steroid use should not be allowed by athletes at all.

P1. Torture is a faster means of obtaining information then question and answer interrogation.

P2. Sometimes when an important person is captured in the war on terror it is a time sensitive matter to get information quickly from the suspect.

P3. To potentially save the lives of thousands the life of one proven war criminal needs to be punished to get the right answers.

C: Therefore, torture is permissible under the right circumstances and with the proper guidelines on the methods used.

My conclusion follows my premises because it is permissible to torture known criminals within certain guidelines and restrictions with the importance and means to prevent innocent lives from dying or being severely injured. If there is clear evidence that an individual is a known criminal within an organization that aims to promote terror on a populace then they should be tortured to gain information in a quick manner.
