2.  Characterization:  View the PowerPoint entitled “Elements of Fiction—Elementary +Examples.”& nbsp; (This PowerPoint seems a little “ elementary,” but it does make some good points very clearly).  Select one character besides Anna and Frederick, and discuss him/her:  What did you find intriguing about this person and why? Do they fit the description of “flat,” “round,” “static,” “ dynamic” types described in the PowerPoint?  Are they a combination of these?  Use one quotation from that character to support your answer.  The explain WHY that quotation supports your claim.(100-150 words) ( 6 points).

 

3.  In Chapter 5 (pp.52-3, Avon paperback edition), Frederick Stanton thinks of his attraction to Anna in metaphoric terms, beginning with "In the short time he'd known her, he'd had the heady sense of being an angler with a particularly wily and powerful fish on the line." In this sentence and the following two paragraphs, what does this fishing metaphor communicate about their relationship?
