The law and the web have play and intricate role of themselves together.

The law and the web have play and intricate role of themselves together. As the web continues to evolve and accelerate, the law tries to keep up. Social media and hacking have grown out of the web and there aren't many laws to regulate things like messaging while driving, cyber bullying, or hacking because new techniques and methods are evolving everyday and laws don't get passed that frequently. Another thing the web has done is the spread of legal information. The newest generation is very active in politics and legal conflicts where only the parties involved and some supporters used to be readily involved in. We saw this in the Bernie Sanders movement, Stephen Colbert's better know a district in-depth piece on his show The Colbert Report, and general political activity. Media is spreading political awareness tenfold and more and more youth are participating and voicing and spreading their opinions. The web has also done a lot for finance. Much of wallstreet trading is done by algorithms and bots to optimse profit. I once heard that there is an area in new york where the rent is really high because the connection to wallstreet servers is the best. In fact, these algorithms do so much trading that they can cause sudden drops or loss of value by glitches or some false manipulation that triggers these rapid trading. Once there was a rumour spreading like wildfire that the president was injured, and stock market algorithms that were listening did rapid trading in response causing a dip in the stock market ( Baumann ). All in all the web has accelerated and connected much of life that wouldn't be going so fast or would be connected and it is all up to the industries and governments; legal, financial, to keep up.
