Pick two publicly traded companies - one (1) of which you believe provides a positive influence on social problems and one (1) which you believe provides a negative influence on social problems.
1. Compare and contrast their social responsibility programs.
2. What is the impact (positive or negative)? Did either company violate standing legislation, rules or regulation?
3. What is the current positive and negative press respectively?
4. What do you believe are the driving forces behind the success and failure?
5. What specifically would you recommend for each company (to either continue success and change failure into success)?
Think about the competing priorities as you conduct research. These publicly traded companies have annual reports where you can find a lot of information around their social programs.
