During Week 3 you reviewed and reported on professional associations supporting the field of psychology. What did you find most helpful and what did you find not helpful or missing from these organizations' websites? I need at least 400 words, below is what I have written so far.
Â
I personally found the websites given to be very helpful. As a psychology student, it can be very stressful and overwhelming when trying to decide which career path to take. Looking at the different sites eased the tension due to the information given and opportunities available to not only master level degrees, but undergraduate/bachelor degree recipients. The websites provide a vast array of information including recent articles, conferences, career opportunities, and information on how to continue education (American Psychological Association, 2013). Not having knowledge in some of the psychology fields available to me, I found the sites enlightening to know options available to me that I may not have known otherwise. There were many links available to view to expand knowledge in different psychology categories. Although I found the majority of the information helpful to me, the one aspect that I found frustrating when viewing the pages was that some information required paid membership to the site. In most cases, I was able to navigate around that issue but viewing other areas of the website. Another discouraging factor was after looking at the membership section; doctors gave a lot of the testimonials; being on the undergraduate level, it made me feel inferior, and question whether the sites were designed for me being at this (undergraduate) level.
