Superheated refrigerant

1. Superheated refrigerant R-134a at 20â—¦C and 0.5 MPa is cooled in a piston/cylinder arrangement at constant temperature to a final two-phase state with quality of 50%. The refrigerant mass is 5 kg, and during this process 500 kJ of heat is removed. Find the initial and final volumes and the necessary work.

2. Two kilograms of nitrogen at 100 K, x = 0.5 is heated in a constant-pressure process to 300 K in a piston/cylinder arrangement. Find the initial and final volumes and the total heat transfer required.
