If we wish to represent record addresses as well as block addresses, we need additional bytes. Assuming we want addresses for a single Megatron 747 disk as in Exercise 13.6.1, how many bytes would we need for record addresses if we:

a) Included the number of the byte within a block as part of the physical address.

b) Used structured addresses for records. Assume that the stored records have a 4-byte integer as a key.

Exercise 13.6.1

If we represent physical addresses for the Megatron 747 disk by allocating a separate byte or bytes to each of the cylinder, track within a cylinder, and block within a track, how many bytes do we need? Make a reasonable assumption about the maximum number of blocks on each track; recall that the Megatron 747 has a variable number of sectors/track
