Choose one of your variables from the food category and one of your variables from the health & physical activity category. However, do not choose a variable if its data is the same for every county. Copy your state data into Excel. Use Excel to determine if there is correlation between the food variable and health and physical variable.
Calculate the correlation coefficient and perform the hypothesis test that determines its significance. Show all details of your calculations.
Interpret the results. For example, is there a significant correlation between food accessibility and obesity?
Discuss how do the statistical calculations compare to your intuitive interpretation from week 2?
Click the Assignment Files tab to submit the following:
•.Excel speadsheet with your data and calculations
• Word document with results in tables and discussion.

Here is a sample of what your Word document might look like for the week 5 food variable assignment. This is hypothetical data.

Be sure the Excel file contains the data for your two variables, and the correlation coefficient calculation as an Excel formula, so I can verify your calculation. You may approximate the critical value from Table A-6 if the table does not have a value for your n.
Â
You may want to do a scatter plot of your data to check visually and informally whether the data appears to have a strong correlation or not, although this is not required.
