error-detection mechanism

1. There is no error-detection mechanism (frame check sequence) in X.25 level three. Isn’t this needed to assure that all of the packets are delivered properly?

2. In X.25, why is the virtual circuit number used by one station of two communicating stations different from the virtual circuit number used by the other station? After all, it is the same full-duplex virtual circuit.
