While reading Browns, Worlds on the Edge, in chapter 7, I received a lot of relevant information about the way the world is changing and how it may turn it in the future to come. Personally, I as an individual believes that Brown makes this relevant. The reason I feel like it’s relevant is because, like I mentioned before I have family that live in Haiti, and from the results taken by the Foreign Policy in 2010, it shows Haiti sitting at number 11 for failing states. Overall I think it depends on the reader to determine if Brown made it relevant for them. If I had to choose I would say he didn’t, just because he mentions countries that aren’t that close to U.S. and doesn’t mention if the U.S. is a failing state. I feel like most people who have read this, and don’t follow the environmental updates occurring around the world will not to care too much, simply because it’s not affecting them right now. However, there was one part that I felt like Brown had made relevant to all people reading this. When he brings up the fact that Afghanistan and Myanmar were a source for drugs, and provided the world with 89% opium.  He could have approached this topic differently by making it more relevant to his main audience (which I am assuming are U.S. citizens). The way he could have made it more relevant is stating what ranking the U.S. is on for failing states, if they are on the list. Also I felt like he could have told the readers some solutions to avoid these problems from coming to the U.S. and other stable states.
