When you ask the question about if Brown is persuasive or not in this chapter, I have to answer yes. There are two reason why I believe what he is saying is true. The first reason is because Brown studies these environmental changes and has done research to back up his statements. He shows multiple times in this chapter as well in previous chapters that he has the credibility to speak about the environment and the changes we have to make to the world. Brown talks about the Plan B effect, and in different ways that will improve the earth. The first solution Brown introduced was the powering of windmills and how this would save an abundance amount of energy and be very beneficial for the economy. The other solution from the Plan B is to expand the use of solar energy, which generates more then a windmill can process, according to Brown “it can be harnessed with both solar photovoltaics and solar thermal collectors”. It has the ability to turn sunlight directly into electricity. Another solution Brown presented was the geothermal energy, which is the heat from the earth like hot rocks or hot water from deeply beneath the earth. Brown truly believes that these are the solutions to fixing our environment along with the economy, and he has turned me into a firm believer as well.
