Music question

FIRST: Read the article “America’s Cash Strapped Orchestras”, watch the video “Stop and Hear The Music”, and read the “Pearls Before Breakfast” article in the Topics in Music Today Instructional Materials.

For a number of years “classical” music has been on the decline in America.Be it major symphony orchestras or solo and chamber performances, the financial support as well as audience turn out for this genre of music has diminished in recent years.

Why do you think this is the case?Is it professional musicians fault for not programing more accessible repertoire? Is it a lack of financial responsibility? Are professional groups too grounded in the past and unable to adapt to current trends?Be sure to justify your opinion.
