Faith has played a very significant role in Western civilization. During this course, we have studied the battles of the Catholic church, through the Enlightenment, the Renaissance and the Reformation. Following the Reformation was the Counter Reformation, the Industrial Revolution, revolutions, nationalism, imperialism, depression, dictators, world wars and changing society of the 20th and 21st centuries, all of which have affected the way faith was practiced, taught and used in Western history.
